Normal for you (dysmenorrhoea)

Cramping period pain may be normal for your body.

If the pain comes on with the bleeding and is most severe when the bleeding is heavy then we call the condition primary dysmenorrhoea. Quite often there is no underlying pathology or disease so we manage the problem conservatively. If the problem persists despite your efforts, you should seek medical advice. Treatment options are discussed in the medical dysmenorrhoea section.
